September: Gathering the Harvest
September finds us standing at the edge of two seasons. Summer hasn't completly disappeared... but autumn is beginning to make itself known. The days slowly grow shorter, the air begins to change, and the garden we've spent so much of this year tending is ready to be gathered from. But a harvest isn't only about what grew successfully. It's also a chance to look at the garden as a whole. What flourished? What struggled? What surprised us? What did we spend months nurturing only to realize it wasn't meant to grow here? and... surprisingly what thrived when we weren't even paying attention?
As we celebrate Mabon and the balance between light and dark, September invites us to find that same balance within our own lives. We can be greatful for what we have while still wanting somethign different. We can celebrate our progress while acknowldging where we've struggled. We can be proud of ourselves without pretending everything went according to plan.
This month, we're gathering more than a harvest. We're gathering lessons... memories... accomplishments... disappointments... and little pieces of ourselves that we've discovered along the way.
Before we decided where we're going next... lets see what we've collected.
🎙️ Studio & Signal
Studio & Signal is supposed to be more behind-the-scenes, and I feel it's become more of a mini rant or journal excerpt. So I'd like to take this moment of clarity to bring it back to its original point.
September's harvesting came early for me. At the end of August, I told Zypher I needed to bring the focus back to streaming. I realized most of my adventurous endeavors were being pursued out of a need for financial stability rather than because my career actually needed them to grow.
I'm excited to announce that I'll be focusing primarily on streaming and really digging into things to figure out what works and what doesn't. It's not to say that I wasn't taking streaming seriously as a career... It's more that I was flying by the seat of my pants rather than actually studying and learning how to fly the plane. So there are going to be some changes to the stream as we iron things out.
One of the new things already implemented is the official drink menu! !drink used to serve all of the drinks, but I've made a change and split them into different categories to really help build up the setting of The Bubbling Cauldron.
So now we have !drink, which serves our in-house drinks; !enchanted, which serves enchanted drinks; and !otherworldly, which serves drinks that would be considered exports from other worlds. For other fun things, I've also added !dyktmm because that is a VERY important question everyone must ask!
And no... I will not tell you what DYKTMM means because you should know! :P
When it comes to other projects, I'm going to be putting tiered subscriptions, Discord admin services, and the merch store on a soft hiatus. They are things I still very much want to pursue... just at a later time.
However, there is one merch idea I'm still working on that will hopefully be released around Mabon. 👀
🌿 Garden of Self — Taking Stock
Can you believe we've already spent eight months tending our gardens?? Now, before we move into the quieter seasons ahead, September gives us an opportunity to walk through what we've grown and really look at it. Taking stock isn't about judging ourselves. We're not separating the year into neat little piles of successes and failures. We're simply paying attention.
What has been nourishing me lately? What has been draining me? What am I still carrying that deserves a little more attention? Some answers may make us proud. Others might be uncomfortable. That's okay... A garden can contain ripe fruit, stubborn weeds, bare patches, and unexpected wildflowers all at once.
This month, our work is simply to notice as we harvest. We don't have to fix everything we find. We don't have to decide what stays and what goes. For now... gather it.
There will be time for sorting later.

Every month I'm including a twitch spotlight for people I follow and watch on occasion. So this month, I've randomly selected a couple of streamers who've caught my curiosity, made me laugh, or had some jaw dropping moments.

September invited us to gather. Not only the things that went right, but the lessons hidden inside the things that didn't. The moments that nourished us.... the ones that drained us... the unexpected growth... AND... even those stubborn little patches where nothing seemed to grow at all. *Irritation increase!*
A harvest doesn't have to be perfect to be worth gathering.
As we leave August behind, I hope you can look into your own basket with a little more gratitude and a little less judgment. Maybe you gathered more than you realized. Maybe some things still need time. Maybe you've discovered that what you thought you wanted to grow isn't something you want to tend anymore. But the good news is... You don't have to figure all of that out today. For now... simply notice what this season has given you.
